Dec 07, Courtney Kleefeld rated it really liked it. As this book comes from someone God used to physically heal thousands of people within his lifetime, this book has its credibility.

There is valid wisdom here about hearing God's voice, though for some readers it might seem closed-minded because of Oral Roberts' belief that God wants to, and does speak to, all His believers not just through scripture , whether or not the believers hear Him. I'm not sure I agree with everything, but most of it if not all of it does contain truth if not elements As this book comes from someone God used to physically heal thousands of people within his lifetime, this book has its credibility.

I'm not sure I agree with everything, but most of it if not all of it does contain truth if not elements or pieces of the most profound truths, whether or not they might seem offensive to some in the blunt way it is written. I was convicted by much of this, and there is a lot to meditate on. Whenever I pick up a book by Oral Roberts and begin to read it, I tend to feel like this writing is anointed, that God is going to speak to me, and often I feel as though this is the case, that God has interrupted me when reading so I would have to stop and listen for a while and write down what God wanted to tell me.

Reading this book has been a slow process because of this--I would get interrupted by the Holy Spirit or spiritual revelation and have to stop and listen or think for a while, praying for confirmation of the truth. There is a holy seriousness here, and reading this book has definitely helped draw me closer to God.

I'm glad I bought the book because I will probably be rereading it for the rest of my life. In my spirit is burning confirmation that this is an important book. On the technical side, I must admit the book cover design is not the most appealing or seeming professional, and the back cover unfortunately reads like a click-bait title for an article. Oral Roberts lived in another time, came from another culture than most people in the younger generations. I highly recommend this book to other Christians who want to learn how to hear God's voice.

The layout I felt was okay but not my favorite writing style; each chapter started with an anecdote then bullet points concluding Oral's experience and what that means for God and our relationship with Him.

I also didn't like how black and white things were written at times, such as how it seems to be advised to not mix with non Christians and that it seems to be necessary to believe to be a good person and benefit from life. Also, I felt Oral seemed to make himself or make himself appear like a prophet, which part of me sees as maybe genuine belief but I also find it a bit arrogant and denoting others who may be of faith but who don't preach. Knowing people who've recovered from either or both by pure faith, determination and focus I can see how these issues could be external not internal.

And I do see now that this isn't denoting responsibility, just that Christians believe that taking responsibility is seeking God to help battle these demons.

Would recommend to both Christians and others who'd like to better understand the faith and where others are coming from. It made me want to read more of the Bible and got me thinking about problems in our world and my personal life and how I could try to fix them. View all 4 comments. There were definitely some good insights. I think my favorite part was getting to hear the heart of and some stories behind Oral Roberts, the founder of ORU. Listening to God's voice and obeying clearly has made an impact! Apr 15, Dorothy rated it it was amazing. One of a best book oral Robert has written.

Jun 06, Sasha bahareads rated it really liked it. Having never read a book by Roberts before but attending the university he started I had a few preconceived notions. However, his writing was clear and simple yet so eloquent. The book was intermixed with Roberts' theological notions, advice, the Bible and personal stories.

I did learn things that I never really thought of before. Roberts is a great author, and I would recommend reading this book. Dec 05, Vara added it.
